The Beach to Ourselves
The Beach to Ourselves was painted looking out at the scene just prior to the lockdown of spring 2020. A calm day but always the pull of the tide out of the harbour. As I was painting the ponies appeared and I had to put them in! I was reminded of times when I also rode on this beach as a child.
I built up the painting with layers of blue-grey, grey-green and pale cream as well as dashes of dark red-browns and olive. Acrylic on canvas varnished and sealed.
