First the Blossom
First the blossom appeared and the fruit trees were in flower during the lockdown of spring 2020 . This made my daily walks a delight as the city grew quiet and the traffic noise was gone.
This piece began with painting the random shapes of white sunlight between the branches and building up layers of vivid greens. Later, when it was sanded and glazed, these created some lovely surfaces and marks adding beautiful depth and texture. Acrylic on canvas, varnished and sealed.
