Welcome — thanks so much for your interest
HERE IS AN OUTLINE OF THE DAY
Join me for the day as we explore acrylic painting in a beautiful location. A five hour Creative Workshop in a small group setting. We will explore our theme with initial drawing exercises and composition considerations, then creating a colour palette before working on our final piece on A3 paper.
All welcome and suitable for all levels from beginners (although some experience of mixing and using paint will help) to improvers. 16 yrs plus.
As a trained art tutor, I have taught in secondary schools and adult education for many years. I now enjoy teaching classes based on my techniques to help and encourage others to develop their own artistic journey. (Please note that I regret that I am unable to refund fees if a student is unable or chooses not to attend, however, I will send you a workshop voucher so you can join me another time).
About the day
Part of the workshop is about sketching and observing the contours, light, textures and colours from photographic resources. Therefore learning to work in a personal sketchbook is helpful so please bring your own. This will enable you to keep all your ideas and any notes in one place. Also please bring pencils 2B and 4B, rubber, sharpener and apron.
After lunch, I will give a group demonstration on how I enjoy taking a sketch into a painting, using many of my own techniques, creating base layers of colour on to which I build interesting textures using a palette knife and much more. Then everyone will have the opportunity to create their own painting inspired by their sketches with lots of support and one-to-one tuition along the way.
What is included?
I will provide ALL the essential materials but suggest that you bring your own apron, sketchbook and pencils.
Cost of the day £125
