Gill Drew Artist

With my right wrist broken and arm in a cast I set about discovering a deeper feeling in my paintings using my left hand.  In my preliminary work I began to explore the textures of the flowers – the softness, butteriness, spikey, bouncy, springy, crispy feelings of the petals and leaves. I was able to work on them with a clearer sense of purpose free from the constraints of observational accuracy by drawing with my left hand.
